Transferrals from outside the UK

We at Weybridge Orthodontics are more than happy to take on transferrals of patients in the active or retention phase of their treatment from other countries. With a large team of highly experienced orthodontists in our practice, all modalities of orthodontic treatment are well supported.

Dr James Stubbs received some of his Orthodontic training at The University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania through the exchange program linked with Guy's Hospital, London. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists and British Orthodontic Society.

A number of students from the local international schools in Cohham (ACS International Schools) and in Ascot (TASIS, The American School in England) have already been successfully transferred and treated at Weybridge Orthodontics. Most of these students had their treatment completed using the initially proposed treatment plan.

This means that we can in most cases continue with the appliances that were fitted in the previous country. The cost of treatment for these cases will depend on the remaining treatment required and we will try to continue as originally planned. However do remember different orthodontists use different brackets, wires and appliances.

We suggest that prior to you visiting us at Weybridge Orthodontics

  • Obtain all or as many of your records from your previous orthodontist
  • Request a copy of the original treatment plan and any special conditions
  • Schedule an initial consultation and we can then discuss further treatment and advise you on the final treatment plan
  • The costs of completing your treatment can vary but we will give you a clear idea of the remaining costs involved to complete your treatment

Please do feel free to ask as many questions as needed at this initial consultation and we can arrange a second opinion as well. It is ideal to not have a too large a gap between the last appointment with your previous orthodontist and the new orthodontist here in the UK.
