How Invisalign can secretly straighten your teeth

Invisalign clear aligners are a popular alternative to fixed braces for straightening teeth. At Weybridge dental clinic Surrey Braces, many patients have benefitted from treatment with Invisalign. Read on to discover how you could be next…

At our Weybridge dental clinic we are always keen to emphasise the additional health benefits of teeth straightening treatment in addition to a beautifully-aligned smile. When your teeth are properly aligned it is easier to keep them clean. There are fewer gaps in which dental plaque can build up, so by straightening your teeth with Invisalign you can cut your risk of gum disease and tooth decay – so long as you visit your hygienist and dentist regularly and keep up good oral hygiene at home, of course.

Maintaining your dental hygiene couldn’t be simpler with Invisalign. Unlike fixed braces, which require the mastery of special cleaning techniques for the duration of treatment, with these aligners all you need to do is pop them out for cleaning. Brush and floss your teeth as normal at least twice a day, and remember to take your aligner out when you eat and drink.

Weybridge Invisalign

When you come into our Weybridge dental clinic for an Invisalign consultation, your orthodontist will carry out an assessment to ensure that this is the most appropriate treatment option for your clinical needs.

Invisalign is backed up by advanced computer software, so your Weybridge orthodontist will be able to show you the projected results of treatment (and all the stages along the way) before you begin.

Treatment involves the use of a series of clear, removable aligners that sit snugly over your teeth and gently guide them into a new position. Every patient’s needs will vary, so your orthodontist will let you know how many Invisalign aligners you will need. You change your aligner fortnightly as your teeth begin to move.

Because they are crafted from clear plastic, these aligners are invisible to the untrained eye. At the end of treatment you will need to wear a retainer. We offer several subtle retainer options at our Weybridge clinic.
